  • Vermont ACDA offers a $500 scholarship to a high school senior who is pursuing a career in vocal music.  This scholarship is offered to students of Vermont ACDA members who have been accepted to a School of Music with a major concentration in vocal music performance or music education.  For more information and application, please look at the Scholarship section of this web site.

  • The Mount Abraham's a cappella group, Sweet Transition, is planning a 2 day tour of Northern Vermont Schools on May 15 and 16.  If you have time for us to come by and sing for an assembly, or for your music classes on Thursday the 16th, please e-mail Megan LaRose, mlarose@anesu.org.  Please pass the word onto any elementary school teachers that you think may be interested! We'd also like to invite everyone to an evening show at Mount Abe on Friday, May 16th.  7:00 pm show - more details to follow.

  • Middlebury College and Maiden Vermont Chorus hosted an evening of a cappella music on Thursday, April 3rd, at Middlebury College's Mead Chapel, 7pm, featuring the a cappella choirs of Middlebury HS, Mt. Abe HS, Vergennes HS, Middlebury College Choir, a student-run a cappella group -- the Mountain Ayres, and Maiden Vermont.  Their goal is to introduce the choirs to each other, to the community, and to share the joy of singing.  They know first hand that singing can be enjoyed no matter how old--or young--a person is!  Maiden Vermont presented a $500 scholarship for study of vocal music / musical theater in college to Mt. Abraham senior Robert Stetson.

  • The Vermont ACDA 2007 Summer Conference was held on Friday, August 17, 2007 in Montpelier. This one day event is full of useful workshops, reading sessions and opportunities to recharge and connect with colleagues. For further information, and registration, click here

  • Each year, Vermont ACDA awards a $500.00 scholarship to a high school senior who is pursuing a career in vocal music performance or education. Last year's scholarship was presented to Julienne Cornelius, from North Country Union High School. Julienne planned to attend the University of Southern Utah to study vocal performance.
